On Monday May 9, 2016 Jennifer Silva published an article titled "Taking Culture Wars To The Toilet". Her article is about the law that's being passed that men that turned themselves into a woman and woman that turn themselves into a man can use whichever restroom they want to. I strongly agree with Jennifer's, she goes on about how its not right and how certain targets around the world are allowing this and passing this law. This is so crazy people, loyal customers of target are no longer wanting to shop there because they are so disturbed. Which they have every right to be. I know i use this phrase a lot in most of my articles but now and days their are so many messed up corrupted people out there you don't know who to trust. Lets say for instance you send your eleven year old daughter into the bathroom alone thinking nothing of it, assuming she'd be safe and as she's walking out of the restroom you notice a man a full grown MAN behind her walking out of the same exact restroom, not looking what so ever like a transgender just a normal man. That would make you feel so uncomfortable because you have no idea what he's capable of and if he talking to your child in there or took perverted photos of her. I believe and also agree with Jennifer when she says you should have to be allowed only to attend the bathroom of the gender that you were born with and that appears on your birth certificate. I have nothing against gays, or transgenders but i do feel very uncomfortable if i'm planning on using the bathroom and theirs a man in their with me. We should be able to feel safe while in a restroom and if we don't this whole pick and choose which ever restroom you want to go to law should NOT be passed for the safety and comfort of others.

Uber Preparing To Leave Houston If City Keeps Existing Rules

On April 27, 2016 an article from The Texas Tribune titled "Uber Preparing To Leave Houston If City Keeps Existing Rules" basically stating that the company plans to cease operations if Houston Tx if the city counsel doesn't back off with all the rules and regulations.

Houston is one of two cities in the country where uber is operating that its drivers undergo fingerprint-based background checks.

Honestly I think that of course uber drivers should get background checks because now and days this world is so messed up you have no idea who you can trust and you absolutely do not want get in a vehicle with someone dangerous. There has been a story on an uber driver that rapped two girls that he picked up which explains why this is such a serious matter.

Apparently uber has already left three cities in Texas and is threatening to do the same to Austin if they approve similar regulations.

I think that our government should stand strong and keep fighting this and not back down because the best way to keep out country safe is to set rules and regulations and with that a major rule that we need to have is for uber drivers should have to get fingerprinted and background checked its only whats right and whats fair to us. The key word with all of this is "safety" and we should be able to feel safe with this company that is very high in demand and very popular famous people even us them.

This is just my opinion and im one thats all for rules and regulations if it means that we are safe and don't have to worry about danger and crazy people driving me home or to places i need to get to and i will not be able to drive to. We go in thinking we can trust these people so we don't really think about bad things that can happen so thats why i feel strongly about going more into who is going to be my uber driver and who im putting my trust in.

Waiting For Nature To Make Up It's Mind

On Friday April 8, 2016 Jennifer Patel published a commentary about a couple expecting a child a little boy to be exact, the soon to be mother wasn't feeling right so she decided to go into the emergency room. Taylor then discovered that she was diagnosed with incompetent cervix as they evaluated her more they also found out that her cervix was prematurely dilated causing their son's leg to start coming out of the womb.

In 2013, House Bill 2 was passed that a women of only 20 weeks can not be induced because they feel that the baby could feel the pain.

I honestly think that is so messed up because Taylor basically had to wait and let nature run its course and she had to wait, just sit there and wonder if she was going to have an okay baby or not have a baby at all which is so sad. I understand abortion is wrong she didn't want to kill her baby like most people do she wanted it to be okay and come out healthy. The baby did not end up making it and i bet that destroyed her. I most definitely think this rule should be reconsidered due to the circumstances.

So as that being said i do agree with Patel and where she is coming from, she makes a good point on why this is wrong.

Texas officer appears to body-slam middle-school girl in shocking viral video

On Thursday, April 7, 2016 the Statesman published an article on an Officer that was put on paid administrated leave for body slamming a Middle School girl.

Officer Joshua Kehm was being video taped while he was trying to restrain a Rhodes Middle School student from San Antonio Texas. In this video you hear some kids laughing and some kids shouting with fear. It shows that he slams her to a brick walkway, handcuffs her, then leads her away. All of this happened because two girls were getting verbally aggressive and Khem was trying to stop it because it was getting pretty serious.

12 year old Janissa Valdez explained to reporters that she wasn't trying to fight with this girl she just wanted to talk alone with her. Valdez does not even remember being slammed to the ground. She thinks what Officer Khem did was and i quote "wrong"

Gloria Valdez, Janissa's mother says, "You could just hear where she hit the ground. And its nothing but concrete cement." "She wasn't moving. She was just knocked out. I wanted answers and nobody could give me answers."

Officer Joshua Khem declined to make a statement.

This whole article has me mixed on who's side I'm on, Yes is was wrong that a big man such as himself slammed a little girl to the ground like that. It's bad enough that Police Officers are already targeted to be "JERKS" "BAD PEOPLE" "CROOKED" and then something like this happens it makes them look even worse and of course no one is going to side with them. I also feel its kind of suspicious how they only recorded the part where he slammed the girl to the ground, usually in these "fight videos" they record the confrontation and none of that happened. Kids now and days believe that all Police Officers are bad, that they're out to get them. Maybe it was wrong of him to handle that situation as he did but maybe also nobody really knows the full story on what happened that day. He was the only adult around and perhaps the kids planned something or maybe not. An Officers job is to protect maybe that's what he was trying to do, and maybe that's not how he intended it to go. I do feel like this situation was handled properly by the head Police and Administrators by putting him on leave until they investigated more of the conflict that happened, and gave justice to the person that truly deserved it. Again i couldn't take a side exactly i could just state what i thought about this article.

Former Trooper Encinia pleads not guilty in Sandra Bland perjury case

On March 24th, 2016, Charles Kuffner posted a story called "Former Trooper Encinia pleads not guilty in Sandra Bland perjury case" in the Off the Kuff Blog. In this blog Kuffner writes about how the Officer on duty when Sandra bland was indeed pulled over, Trooper Brian T. Encinia is pleading not guilty. Bland went to jail and was found dead. Encinia is most definitely lying about "his actions that July, while arresting Sandra Bland." Encinia was held only with a misdemeanor, if charged he can spend up to a year in jail and have to pay a fain of $4,000.

It seems to be that Kuffner sides with the mother and sister of Sandra Bland, That Encinia doesn't deserve to get as lucky as he is by not having a bigger punishment. I love how he put Bland's family in this and gives them a voice, Kuffner shows people how Sandra's family is feeling about Encinias charges and what they think should happen to him for the actions he chose. I also strongly feel that maybe he should get a worse punishment then a longer conviction. Someone died, and its possible it was his fault she will never come back he ruined peoples lives I think now he should pay. Sandra Bland needs justice.


"At the end of the day, my sister, my mother's daughter, is no longer here anymore. He needs to be held accountable for his actions."

I agree with Kuffner, i believe there should be more justice for Bland, She deserves to be laid to rest in peace. The truth needs to come out and Encinia needs get what he deserves for his dishonesty also for being involved with Sandra's death. I also strongly feel that maybe he should get a worse punishment then a longer conviction. Someone died, and its possible it was his fault she will never come back he ruined peoples lives I think now he should pay. Sandra Bland needs justice. I have very mixed emotions about all of this part of me agrees with Kuffners opinion and deep down inside me i disagree. 

When Will Texas Stop The Fight Against A Woman's Right?

On February 1, 2016, Leah Kashar from the Daily Texan Online published an article titled, "When will Texas stop the fight against a woman's right?" Leah argues that the Supreme Court needs to "take a stand and establish constitutionality of abortion once and for all". She is opposing against the Supreme Courts decision to get rid of clinics that let women go get abortions.

She mentions how the states 40 abortion clinics have been reduced to 17 so that make it harder for women to go get abortions because their isn't any clinics near them, if they would like to get an abortion they would have to travel further most likely 111 miles away from their home or they need to New Mexico, causing a burden on women.

She makes valid points in her argument and is credible, as it references to the the case between Planned Parenthood V. Casey also that Texas is stubbornly revisiting the issue in HOUSE BILL 2 and the subsequent suit over its constitutionality in Whole Women's Health V. Hellerstedt.

Leah's arguments are intended to persuade others to take a stance against Texas.

Her article is aimed at convincing the audience that Texas must change their unjustly laws against women's rights. It also reinforces this opinion in audience members that agree with her, pushing them to fight harder to make a change.

So here's my opinion i don't believe in abortions i do feel like abortion clinics should be illegal and band from Texas but, She does make sense when she says women should have the right to do what they want for their well being. Although abortion is wrong and a sin i do think if a women is put in a position where they are vulnerable and can not physically and financially support a child at the moment then they need to do whats necessary for them.

Families Accuse Bank of Laundering Gang Money

On February 11th 2016 the Texas Tribune published an article titled "Families Accuse Bank Of Laundering Gang Money"

This article is mainly about how the HSBC is laundering billions of dollars for the Mexican cartel including the Sinaloa, Juárez, and Los Zetas Cartels, deliberately disregarding the fact that said funds would be used to support the Mexican cartels and their terrorist acts against Mexican and U.S. citizens. 

"The lawsuit alleges that employees of the HSBC banks in Mexico regularly accepted hundreds of thousands or millions of U.S. from people with no source of income"  

Several agents that were trying to stop this from continuing were murdered.

Agent Zapata's murder sparked national outraged and "reignited the debate" about whether the Mexican government  should allow foreign agents to arm themselves while on assignment in that country. The agent and his partner were unarmed when ambushed on a roadside during a trip where they were transporting equipment from Monterrey to Mexico City.

Lesley Redelfs was an employee at the U.s. Consulate in Ciudad Juárez and her husband was a detention officer with the El Paso Country Sheriff's Department. The family was murdered by the cartel same as Agent Zapata. Redelf was four months pregnant, and the couples daughter was also found in the car when they were ambushed. 

Articles like these help us to realized things like this happen everyday and it shows you how strong the cartel world is. My opinion on this article is that the government should really crack down on the bank security and also that they should let agents go into other Countries armed to be able to defend themselves if something like that was to happen again.
